Shovels & Rope Manticore Tour

Americana powerhouse Shovels & Rope make a stop at the Axis Club in Toronto, Ontario Sunday, April 3rd. The husband and wife duo are in town in support of their latest album “Manticore” which was released February 18 on Dualtone Records. Once planned as a stripped down record, the couple was afforded the time to expand the sound of the album as the world shut down in 2020. Musing on modern womanhood, celebrity, the death of James Dean and their own divorce, Shovels & Rope bring the heartfelt, deeply personal storytelling they are known for. 

With 2022 marking 10 years since the duo’s breakout LP “O’ Be Joyful”, this outing will not only be a celebration of “Manticore” but of the band’s career thus far. With support from Toronto based songwriter Jeremie Albino, the US leg of Shovels & Rope’s spring tour is a must see for Americana fans in Toronto and beyond.
